Cue Of A Lifetime

That's a great addition to your reimagined propeller cue! Awesome piece!!

Thanks...I was planning on taking some shots of the the two of them together. I think I could get some nce ones using a similar layout.

The yellowed balls really show off the difference of before and after. Any pics of the before?
Amazing!

I do love this cue. I was really hoping for a box or an 8 pointer. 👍🏻

Two things jump out to me. The nice original Penn linen replacement, and the bright white ivory in the buttsleeve. Magnificent cue.

All the best,
H

As Barry told me, there were many 8 pointers that weren't as fancy as this cue. I've seen some of those and box cues that werent either. This cue being one of Gus's fanciest 4 pointers got my juices flowing

Personally I like heavily inlaid cues. Ultimately it's those cues from the sought after masters that are the most difficult to obtain. At least for me over the years. I'm not a box cue fan but would habe been just as happy if I'd have aquired a nicely inlaid 8 pointer. :)

Thanks Hoot. I think if you could handle this cue you would see why Cortland has nothing on Penn. Many linens in the right hands can be made to feel great to just about anyone. Cortland was the premier fishing line at that time but Penn was another great product used out of necessity by Gus due to Cortland's linen line being discontinued. It proved to be an equal substitute in Gus's hands. I was just happy that Barry had some of the old stock and used it to put the cue back to original order specs. :)

Couldn't agree with you more, Tim. In fact, I believe Penn linen has the interesting history of one of our own, the legendary cue maker, Bill Stroud, having a hand in it's design. In fact, I'm sure of it.

Linen has some interesting history, Penn and Cortland arguably the best of them all. Glad you have the good stuff on your Gus. It's arguably as good or better than brand new, depending on your point of view.

All the best,
H

I think the point of view that matters to me is that regardless of anything it is still ALL Szamboti! :yeah: :)
