What is better to buy between this Dufferin and Mc dermot.

I'd prefer 12.75 or 13 mm shaft. And those cues are cheap.

What advantage i'll get by buying a more expensive cue?
What do you recommend me about this trades?

I own the Lucky L5 model, someone left it at a pool hall for several weeks and I took it home when no one claimed it. Hits really good for the price and I liked the balance.

You'd have to try them to see which you like though, the Dufferin will probably have a stiffer hit.

and..what about low deflection shaft made by Mc Dermott.does it exist? Because dufferin probably not?
Lucky L5 is made by mapple only

Sure you can get a low deflection McDermott shaft for it, or any LD shaft with a 3/8 x 10 pin. I used mine with several shafts, including an OB and a few from a custom cue maker. So the shafts were about 3 times the cost of the cue LOL

If you get the Dufferin I'm sure you can find an LD shaft for that, but in either case you are looking at $150 or more over cost of the cue.

I got a Lucky L28 a while ago. As a player for my guests. It hits alright. But - I would never buy it again. First of all I have a funny noise in the tip somewhere. Probably a slightly loose ferrule. Then it fell over just once. Nothing major - it was leaning on the wall and just slowly fell over against a chair. A piece of the lacquer coating about 1/2" by 1/2" fell off. My old Meucci experienced a lot worse accidents. Many times. Really minor scratches is all I can detect after many years.

The workmanship of the/my Lucky is just not really great, IMHO. Not even good enough for the price. I heard better things about the Dufferins but I don't own one.

What money you want to spend?

Go with a Peri cue.

I have a Lucky cue, it was ok for me when I just start to learn the game. Dufferin also is good for the money, but you can find better deals.
In both cases you'll need a good tip to put on. You know that Lucky and Dufferin are made in China, right?

I would put both brands in the same category. I see Peri mentioned, it's about the same.
Joss has some fairly inexpensive models, but they are made the same way all Joss cues are made (eight here in USA) you can get them with 12.5, 12.75 and 13mm shafts. It's well worth the small upcharge.
