OK, thought I'd start a new thread for this. What are some good options to the Kamui clear black SS tips? Layered or not I don't care.

If you shot with the K' super softs in the past and like a soft tip and moved to something else, I'm particularly interested in your thoughts.

Thanks all.

Try the new Ultraskin Ivory.

I use the ss black clear. So far so good. Still seems harder than other soft tips I’ve tried.

I know a pro (Justen Bergman) uses Zan soft tips. I have one on order but have not used one.

I switched from the kamui soft to the regular ultraskin soft and I like them much better. They seem to stay soft

I've had the EXACT opposite experience. One Very Soft was so hard I could have use it on my break cue! Try a G2 soft. Even a Kamui Brown SS is better than a Very Soft US.

My take

A friend of mine has a Kamui SS Black Clear on his cue. His tip is AMAZING. The best tip I have ever felt in over 30 years of playing. I went to the same guy he got his from to get the same tip 3 weeks after he got his. My tip is nowhere near as good as his. I talked with Bertone as to why this might be. No real definitive answer. That being said he sent me another of the same tip to try. Unfortunately that tip was just like the one I already had but not at all like my friends tip. If I could find a tip that was equal to my friends tip I would probably pay 100 dollars for it it is that good of a tip. That being said I am now in search of a grippy tip that doesn't glaze over and plan to try something new soon.

Thanks

Kevin

ULTRA SKIN USER....
"For YEARS!
EXCELLENT QUALITY, CONSITENCY FROM TIP TO TIP ,
AND LAST A LONG TIME-
"Always GREAT SERVICE FROM Tom

I put ultraskin softs on several of my shafts without first trying one out- they all ( 7 shafts/3different cues) seem to play harder than what I expected a soft tip should be from prior experience with other soft tips - but I am not unhappy with their overall performance, just that it is a bit harder hit than what i was expecting and the tips were not all done by the same cue repair pro, so it is a proper random sample of seven different ultraskin soft tips.

Except for one cue, all of mine use Kamui Black Clear in soft and also super soft.
If you find the soft a bit too hard, go super soft like I did on the 2nd shaft for my cues.
