For the money buy this one, sell some of the tools and still have a really cheap lathe that will do anything.

Sell the taper bars, I would maybe buy them. Sell the quick change tool post, routers, bed extension and you would have one dirt cheap.

I live near that machine, but it is $1000 out of my price range.

Probably cost 500 or less to make
cartertools for taig parts
pennstate for motor and controller
8020 garagesale for the steadyrest parts or buy extra bed and rest from cartertools

That kit sounds perfect. I have it on my Christmas list unless something used comes up.
