My ivory pointed Andy Gilbert in Amboyna Burl and a nice story behind it!๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜‰
Enjoy!๐Ÿ˜€

Had to find time to post all story but here you are a short version. I know Andy personally. Met him like 20 years ago in Vegas during BCA. Joe Salazar introduced me to him since I have known Joe for many years. He was a Schon dealer at that time but as always he was carring many other cues. I wanted to buy Andy Gilbert j/b and AE cue from him but he refused to sell it to me during BCA and told me tht he can't sell them as long as BCA and VNEA last since during that time he can sell only Schon cues. So, he sold me those two cues after, when these tournaments were finished. We met at the parking lot in front of Cue Club...I think that was the name of that poolhall and he left and I stayed practicing in the poolhall. I was playing money game and after 5 hours Joe showed up. He was on the way to Texas and after 2 and half hour of driving he stops at gas station to get some fuel. He takes the money out of his pocket to pay for the fuel and he takes it out of the pocket in which was money I gave him. He realizes I gave him 100$ more than I should so he turns back and drives all the way back to Vegas to give me 100$ back. This is what he told me when he showed up in Cue Club!๐Ÿ˜€
I will never forget that...I was only 20 years old then.
Anyway many years later I was talking with Joe on the phone and he told me that Andy is building him an amazing cue for him and he sent me some photos on the emails. I was stunned. It was an amazing ivory pointed Gilbert in Amboyna Burl with numerous inlays in ivory, silver & abalones. Everything white is ivory. I wanted that cue so hard and invested some time in convincing Joe to give over that cue to me. It still wasn't finished but was close...in the final stage. He finally agrees to leave that cue to me!๐Ÿ˜€
Later Andy built me matching jump break...of course not with as many inlays as in the player but only with the same ringwork and boxes in the butt. So, this is the story and here you are!๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰

thats an incredible cue buddy!! I met andy about 11 years ago at derby city and drank a few beers together. I told him i didn,t like ivory ferrules that it softened the hit for me,and he emphatically agreed. Said he would only use ivory in the ferrules if a customer wanted it... Really a down to earth great guy and i bought a j/b before i left to PLAY with(they play good) and bought several cuea of hos since. You have here,my favorite gilbert ever, and it belongs in the hands of someone like you buddy,ENJOY
