Kazakis starts off with a perfect break and then a near-catastrophic leave from the 2 to the 3. Looks like he got away with it though.

It's a show of confidence. In previous years, there was obvious lack of confidence, and then the leaves tend to go wrong.

Woodward missed a tough but makeable shot, but then Kazakis way overran position on the 9-ball and missed a bank. I'm a little surprised he didn't try a thin cut.

Woodward almost scratches on his 9-ball attempt but ties it up at 2-2.
 
Shy makes the 2 and 3 on the snap. Easy shot on the 1 ball

4 to the 5 ball is tough due to congestion in the rack area.

Sky freezes the CB on the rail. Jacks up on the long tough 5 ball. Misses.

Still not easy from here due to congestion.

Kaz made some good shots then overran the 9 ball.Missed the bank shot!

Sky cuts the 9 ball in!
