Bullet Proof Glass Tips.... Incognito?

Rubber tips have been around for a while, fantastic for wicked english and masse shots. You can buy screw-in rubber tips on Ebay. They're bright orange on a clear plastic base. There's a reason for this. If you're ever caught playing for money, in a tournament, etc. with a rubber tip, things get messy. I know a guy that made his own rubber tip, stained it, and proceeded to try to hustle with it. He was in the hospital for a week.

Great for trick shots, demonstration, etc. BAD for making money with.

Actually, that made me think of something. OB shafts use a layered rock maple ferrule with a shim or gasket between it and the tip. I have no idea what this shim is made of, just that if you don't use it, the shaft doesn't work quite right.

Mine works fine with out the pad.

Saw two people with them monday, both of them apa players.Tips are some type of
clear polycarbonate .Just like clear pad for kamui tip but made from .25 thick stock.
Both people had them installed by a tip guy at a tournament.I'll ask next time I see one
of them.(all LEXAN is polycarbonate,But all polycarbonate is not LEXAN):grin-square:
Tip feels softer than G-10 or phenolic to me.I tried them both.
