Is having Earl around really a plus??![]()
if memory serves me, vegas hosted one big event with odds and betting offered on any and all matches. in the 80's. the players cut them up throwing matches. Vegas said they would never supply betting again. this is one huge problem with players honesty and integrity. make your own estimate of getting anything approved there in the future..![]()
A universal dress code would help. When I look at videos on uTube (for example Roy’s Basement) the players look like gangbangers. Derby City is another example. They all looked like something the cat drug in. Even cornholeers on ESPN look a lot more professional.
Years ago everyone could afford to play. 80 cents hour. 25 cents bar table. Too expensive now. End of story.
my feelings too. the single pro who seems to cause the most problems for spectators and feelings of support for billiards![]()

INCORRECT
Pool is still one of the most INEXPENSIVE pastimes today.
At $6/hour or an all day pass from 11am-6pm for just $10 that's $1.43/hour by day and $8/hr or an all night pass from 6pm-2am for $25 that's $3.13/hour by night. What else can you go out and do at that price in 2020?!?
TopGolf is $50/hour. Period.
Bowling costs $20 for 10 frames and shoe rentals and that finishes in 35 minutes on average.
Movies are $15-$18 a ticket for a 90 minute show.
How is pool too expensive???
Please explain. Thank you.

Minimum wage was also 1.35. Today an evening movie date.… $13.00 each...soda $5.00 you can share... Popcorn 9.00...popcorn surprise priceless. Total $40.00 for two hours.
It is cheaper to take a date to play pool than bowling or movies.
If you stay home and have sex and she gets pregnant then it much more expensive the pool.
Ed, Yes America has millions of people playing pocket billiards each day. Thank goodness, Many things in the industry are being fixed. Pool must get out from under poker and away from dark rooms. At this time even the WPBA ( WPA ) is not a complete world standard. We still have bar and hall fights over Rules. Pool is the only Sport on earth that has more players than viewers. I watch about a hundred pro games a week, Mostly streamed from China. I pray someday we ( The World ) can unite has a one set of Rules for our games.. On and on . Guy
More tv exposure would help. When the many sports networks cover corn hole tournaments and not billiards that should be a clear signal that whoever is at the helm has been asleep for quite some time. And I am in an even worse position as a fan of 3 cushion. Hard to play when most proprietors won't have a 3 cushion table on the premises. Stock answer from a typical owner, "Nobody plays!" Yes and no one plays because there no 3 cushion tables here. smh
ESPN will broadcast pool, if someone wants to pay for it. ESPN doesn't show cornhole because they think its cool, someone is paying them to put it on. When the womens pro pool tour was on regularly, the tour was paying for it.
Line up your sponsors, and put it on TV.
