Here are some stats from the Alex Pagulayan vs. Francisco Bustamante 8-Ball race to 25 played May 3, 2020 at Ray Hansen's home in Texas. Pay-per-view live streaming was provided by PoolActionTV.

This was Day 3 of a best-3-out-of-5 Champions Challenge All-Around match, with a different discipline played each day for up to 5 days. Remote commentary (by phone) was provided on Day 3 by Larry Schwartz. Ray Hansen also commentated, from a room in his home separate from the pool room. Bustamante won the set 25-12.

Bustamante now leads the match with 2 wins to 1 for Pagulayan. Scores for each Day/Discipline (Bustamante's score first):

Conditions -- The conditions for this set included:
- Diamond 9-foot table with standard pro-cut pockets and blue Simonis 860 HR cloth;
- Aramith Tournament balls with a measles cue ball;
- triangle rack;
- winner breaks from anywhere behind the head string;
- rack your own;
- take what you make on the break if all pocketed balls are from the same group, table open otherwise;
- ball in hand behind the head string after a foul on the break;
- jump cues not allowed;
- 3-foul rule in effect (did not happen);
- no shot clock; and
- lag for opening break (won by Pagulayan).​

■ Bustamante broke 24 times -- successful 14 times (resulting in 13 game wins and 1 loss), 2 fouls (1 win, 1 loss), and 8 dry (1 win, 7 losses).

■ Pagulayan broke 13 times -- successful 8 times (resulting in 3 game wins and 5 losses), 1 foul (a loss), and 4 dry (all losses).

Francisco played totally amazing today.

That was some of the best 8 Ball i have seen in a while.:clapping:
 
One hell of a match...total of 6 fouls...9 missed shots...less than 5 minutes per game.
....sounds like they were playing on a bar box instead of a championship table.

My hat is off to Django....could he become the oldest world champion 9-baller?

Now that his One Pocket game has taken off, I think Djanjo is the best all around player in the game today.

Agreed. Just to repeat something in the stats above -- he was the player at the table after the break 19 times. And he ran out the game 17 of those 19 times (89%). :eek:

2 of his 3 missed shots were in Games 1 and 3. So he missed only 1 shot after Game 3. And he wasn't playing any safes to avoid tough shots.
