I am curious to see how you make the lid or top of the case.
There are different styles of attaching and securing the top.

A 4x8 arrangement using this brown leather or even maybe
experiment by adding a wee bit more red to the dye for a
burgundy or cherry color effect would be fantastic. In fact,
it is something I’d enjoy discussing with you because like
I stated, I do think you have talent & admire your workmanship.

For this first case, the lid is just going to be done in the usual style with snap fasteners on one side and a hinge ring on the other.

I think we might have the same taste in color because I was originally going for more of a dark maroon color, which came out nicely on the test piece, but for some reason the red didn't show as much on the actual case.

How do you compress those rivets on the back plate? The one's on the ends wouldn't be too hard, but the middle?

I dont know how other people do it, but I just stuck a long piece of 2x4 through the tube and laid the ends across two tables.

Thank you, your cases are a huge inspiration for me!

Now that I kind of know what it takes to build a case, it's made me appreciate even more the amount of time and hard work it takes to be a case maker. You guys should be charging way more for your products lol!

Well, it sounds like those guys aren’t the only one that should be charging more for a case.
Darn it, there goes my hope for a Az discount. But indeed, there is no substitute for quality.
