Russian pyramid on YouTube: 14.1-style game that is more fun than real 14.1 pool!

This game is called Long pyramid and it uses concept similar to 14.1 pool - rack is respotted when 2 balls are left on the table.

Somehow on a pyramid table this works way better than in original straight pool - tight pockets make runs short, every frame features a safety battle when few balls are left on the table, numerous difficult shots from high bridge at the beginning of each rack and more.

This is one of the older matches - back from 2006. Long pyramid is rarely played and few recordings are available. But luckily - this particular match is awesome!

Fun to watch. Always admire a game that takes Precision potting skills. Hopefully Chinese 8 ball will Increase popularity in North America

I play versions of games on my Snooker table in which any ball is the cueball. Likely shoot at least twice as many balls in an hour of playing. Sharpens the skills.

I’ve been playing Russian Pyramid now and then on my Snooker table using American balls. No idea how those guys can do it without using a Snooker cue. I need the precision and spin of a 10mm tip.

There are some pyramid cues with 11mm tips, but they are very rare and since snooker is basically unknown in Russia - few players ever tried tips smaller than 13mm. Everybody tells legends about them, but no one tested it :)
