But this thread has been interesting to follow. Its like a "What are they going to say next?"

I am starting to see a pattern of cowardice from special interest groups like u and yer little group, 1st of all ur agreeing with ugotaction in that 'no one' cares about Mosconi's record would lend itself to u being a coward. Of course this is a false narrative from - and cowards like u are aware of this, my "is schmidt's 626 Legit?" thread here in main forum received over 30,000 views and more than 100 pages - so there is zero logic in saying "no one cares". This new thread started from ptk may surpass my other thread. So I think to say that no one cares is just a cowards attempt to belittle Mosconi's long standing achievement. Funny thing about a cowards is there are an ample supply of them floating around on social media with desk jobs i.e. useless machines spreading disinformation - machines like u r here to aid and abet fake news. Also an obscure record would b the guy who has the world record for how many toothpicks he placed in his beard (a relatively new record and definitely obscure) but then again I'm unable to grow a beard and Mosconi was one of my hero's.

So if u agree with ugotaction (who would not bet that fat meat is greasy on a pool table) u show that u too are just a coward trying to belittle Mosconi's great achievements. Ur just upset that the people who are demanding to see unedited footage of bca/j.s. grandiose claim - and bca and j.s. have been caught in a possible fake news scandal. I would say ur a member of the crooked federation kenoby - ur not a jedi - so stop pretending to b. j.s and bca are claiming to have set a new world record in 14.1 - without providing any tangible evidence and ur on their side?. Here is my recurring concern.

Assume the 100% genuine unedited video is produced. We know the inescapable conclusions created if the video reveals a clean run or an obvious foul. But where would be be if the video is far less than optimal and many shots, racks, etc., are obscured by whatever? The end result of the 100% genuine unedited video would be that it neither validates nor invalidates the run.

Where would we be in such a case?

First off, I am no special interest group nor am I apart of anyone's group like you incorrectly assumed. I am just someone following the thread. As far as ugotaction, I don't know him from Adam. He just mentioned about people taking obvious sides and throwing mud at each other, which is what you are doing here to someone who has no dog in the fight with this topic. Then you went on line upon line of talking points and making assumptions about me, all of which are false. So let me educate you on some facts Mr Harriman. Personally I view what Mosconi did to be one of the greatest records in all of sports. So much so that when there was that New York Times article (or whatever mainstream paper that covered it) about John breaking the record, I got a sports talk radio host for a 50,000 watt station to talk about it for a segment. It was his first segment about billiards in the 15 years of the host's doing the program. To put how amazing Mosconi's record was so he could relate, I said that it was like if someone where to break DiMaggio's 56 game hit streak and Pete Rose's total hit record. Both of which have lasted for years and are incredibly hard to surpass. So you can cut the conspiracy theory BS with me. I agree with you that a full uncut video needs to released for it to be widely recognized. The longer it doesn't surface, the more people think that it didn't happen.

In these type of situations, I think that it's always best to put yourself in the other person's shoes. If I was John Schmidt and I provided the unedited video to the BCA and the BCA certified the run as legit based on that video, why would I care if their are other players with a bone to pick that are demanding that they see the unedited video too?

Frankly, I don't think that I would care. That video would be my intellectual property and as long as a type of governing body in pool analyzed the video and agreed that the run was legit, that is as much as I would probably do.

Sure, many people would love to view the entire run for free. So they throw mud at John and try to pressure him to release the unedited video and accuse the BCA and him of a grand conspiracy until he does so. While that is obviously the track that some of you have took, I think that I will ignore the conspiracy theory in this case, because John has done about all that I would have personally done in this situation. :thumbup:

EDIT: And I already know...people are going to claim that they don't want to see the unedited video for FREE, what they really want to do is to CERTIFY that the run is legit themselves. Really? So unless every Tom, Dick, and Harry pool player also certifies that the run was legit, then it's not legit? I don't think so...

Exactly where we are today except there will be one new conspiracy theory for each day that passes between now and then.

We've come a long way actually. Remember the halcyon days of shaved slates, Red Bull, internet search background checks of witnesses and greasy towels? Those were the days. We kinda peaked a few months ago with BCA and China working together and are running out if ideas forcing us to resort to the Video Chain of Custody trial ballon launched a few days back with no real substance?

Another facebook puppet/rodent of fake news - many members have already offered good $ for their own signed copy - and received no answer - so his and bca's monetary return has been weak at best - if u would have followed the same business model that j.s. and bca have - u have about as good uh' chance of being a successful marketing strategist - as a proverbial snow ball flying through the lower regions of hell.
