American made one piece house cue

The Lucky and Star lines are designed by McDermott, materials are shipped from the US to China, and components are assembled and finished in China. Excellent cues.
Never heard that materials are sent from US to China for these cues. Why would you do that?? You're trying to hit a price point.

China doesn't have hard rock maple, they have to source the Maple from Canada or the US. The cues are designed / engineered by McDermott and built to their specs by the Chinese factory. Based on a 30 minute video I saw a couple of months ago .. showing the raw material selection, aging, and multiple lathe runs made on cues, I had the impression that they DID ship raw material for final finish and assembly in China. Ocean shipping in containers is very cost effective. There ARE furniture companies that do it regularly. And hit their price points.

I've seen both Star & Lucky. They brought these out so they'd have a low-end line to sell. They're ok for a cheap cue. About like a Players decal cue. Probably made in same shop.

The Star seems like a pretty nice budget cue. I have a US made McDermott G204 playing cue and a Star cue I bought as a break cue. At this point very happy with them both.
