To add context to your post, you had suggested (based on garzar's post) that the "cushion profile" is the downward angle from the top of the sub-rail to the nose of the cushion. Keep in mind, he was also referring to an installed cushion (mounted to a sub-rail), as he mentioned the changes that Diamond had made to their sub-rail design.
The feature that garzar was referring to is a direct effect of the sub-rail face angle. It has little to do with the actual cushion profile. To call this feature "cushion profile" is incorrect.
"Cushion Profile" is the cross-sectional geometric outline of the freestanding cushion.

Just because you have assembled and clothed a table does not mean you are a mechanic or that you are able to give other people advice about pool table work. Your opinion is not anything more than a little bit of experience and a bunch of repeating things you read mostly. Lets just not go down this road, the forum has been VERY calm and people are getting exactly what they need from people who know what they are talking about. PS. yes, I do understand that guys like Rexus /Pocket are the exception to the norm, they did great work on their tables, researched the rest and worked with a Pro for the things they could not do.

I am being nice. But, still trying to figure out how pocket angles and multi layer tips relate to each other. I have been scratching my head for days now trying to understand the profound wisdom. I am guessing that the tip of a pool cue has a very slight taper that is similar to the downward angle of a pocket facing. I tried to find information but have failed. So I am assuming it is something pool table “mechanics” keep close to the vest. Sorta speak.
