I know that breaking l(unscrewing)your cue is a signal of forfeit. This scenario happened in my league match last week and am curious as to how people view it and what the nitty gritty ruling would be.
My opponent had a shot requiring a long reach could have used the bridge. Instead he went to his bag pulled out a mid cue extension broke his cue down used the extension. After making the shot he then again broke his cue removed the extension and continued shooting. To me it was no big deal but I feel others in our league might not be so forgiving. By the book, Is this a rules violation? A forfeit?
I feel I should advise him one way or the other for future matches.
