Angles

I guess what I meant to say is as the CB and OB get relatively close together, for a sharper cut, you may not even be able to get to that ghost ball contact point on the OB necessary to make the shot that you could get to if the balls were further apart, on the same line.
I got that (thanks for clarifying anyway). What I meant is that's only true if you move the CB along the CB/OB line rather than along the CB/ghostball line. Moving the CB directly toward the ghostball, it can go all the way into the ghostball position without interference from the OB.

distance does not matter at all. it is same line from 1mm from OB to infinity. Maybe i need to post diagram if it is too hard to figure out from my English. I dont always know proper way to explain myself with foreign language.

On that diagrem cut is more than 45 degree. my setup cueball is same distance from side rail where is ghost ball middle.

Yes, it's only to illustrate the difference I described - not to represent a true 45-degree cut.

A true 45-degree cut can be set up by moving the CB off the CB/OB line as you described above.

Yes, your diagram shows it very well. What might be a half ball hit needed to pocket the ball from a further distance, if the cue ball is advanced closer directly towards the object ball at some point will become a full 90 degree edge to edge cut in order to pocket the ball.

Yes, and past that point the shot will be impossible.
