``DEAL GONE BAD - SCAM ALERT

we dont get taxed twice we get taxed every damn year til you sell it

Chili we pay when we buy a vehicle , then every year there after you own vehicle . its a scam and rip off . it used to be ay i bought car from aomeone for 5,000 and i say i paid 2,000 you get taxed . but since everyone in nc was lowering the price that they actually paid , the state said ok , we are gonna decide what the tax should be , so people have no control . every year you own the taxes go down but still they are stealing from your wallet. i love NC been here born and bred , but we got alot of stupid taxes . case in point i got 79 jeep renegade taxes are 8 dollars , based on the state setting worth . our 2014 sorento which we bought new taxes are 173 dollars . next year might go down to 150 etc .

also its why i dont own a little trailer to haul lawn mower , i drive it up in bed of my truck , because if i buy even a small trailer , you gotta have tags and license on it . complete bs . also if you own cars not registered or boats atv anything you can drive and not report it you can get in trouble , so you gotta pay for something sitting there .

When you purchase a vehicle you have to pay sales tax on said vehicle, then you have to pay road taxes to drive on the road (clearly there are more details than "road" wrapped up in these fees) and that's done via your registration ala license plates (this is why some people push for toll roads - why do I have to pay for a road I don't drive on?). Although, it seems you're getting taxed twice for the same thing you're really not.

I do agree with your assessment of the grand scheme of taxes though. In my opinion, X number of people require Y number of dollars to properly support a city or state and that money comes from somewhere whether it's sales tax, use tax, road tax, beer tax, etc. - it comes from somewhere.

Don't forget the nearly .50 cents a gallon in Federal tax, that you pay on every gallon of gasoline that you buy. Whatever will feed the machine once everything is "green?" ;)
