Acetal for joint rings?

My understanding is it doesn't glue real well but could it be used just as the ring at shaft butt? Or is there a way of gluing it solid?

Ok, so obvious first question, why choose the worst material to glue, in a shaft collar pack? Second, why use the worst material that a finish has to adhere to? Acetal/delrin has many uses in cue building, but mostly as jigs that are used for assembly because pretty much no glues/finishes stick to it. If you use the right glue that is made for it, then okay on the glue side, BUT...then how do you put a finish on the shaft joint area? I have not seen any finish stick to it yet, for any real length of time especially in a high traffic area like the joint. There are MANY other alternatives like ABS/white phenolic/titan/tomahawk that are very white and glue and finish stick well to.

I'm new to all this but trying 👍. I considered it cause Prather sells acetal carbon shaft inserts, maybe it's use for carbon is different than for wood.
Only real reason is it's easily available to me however the finish didn't cross my mind.

I've used it just to fool around and my experiments confirmed what Dave says above. It's easy to machine but it's not going to finish nicely (or at all) compared to the wood it sits next to. It works great for collets.

This is the first cue I ever made. Unfortunately I used delrin for the rings! You can clearly see where the finish has rubbed off.
