I don't see many cues with Ash burl. As a cue maker, is there a reason for this, or is it just that you have a hard time acquiring quality wood. I would really like a nice no wrap with ash burl in the grip section, or the butt and forearm. I saw a Carmelli once with some really nice ash, but it was a linen wrap.

Black ash burl is awesome wood. Just my opinion but it should be resin impregnated to really make it pop. It has been offered from time to time for sale but not to often.

Really beautiful cue. I understand what you mean. Ash or maple burls can have some good size voids, also on some of my turnings, even though they have been rough turned for over a year, some time after finish turning they will still Crack in the darker area at some time later. Looking for something like that cue only without the points.

I used some Red Ash Burl in a few cues for inlays. Those were really beautiful inlays.
