147 From Judd

Pretty good, eh?

I just discovered that O'Sullivan skipped the event. Said Eurosport: "The world No. 2 has decided against travelling to the salubrious five-star Nirvana Cosmopolitan Hotel in Antalya next month because he was not offered any extra financial incentive by tournament promoters to participate."

Are appearance fees common for the top guys in snooker's world ranking events?

yes.

I don't know if it equates to an "appearance fee", but I think top PGA players also receive incentives just to show up.

I guess in the pool world this would be paid entry and maybe a hotel room costs.

One of the billiard hard achievements on a table: 15 red ball shots plus 15 black ball shots plus
6 coloured balls, figuring a total 36 shots successfully made. Only 3 cushion carom is harder than that.

I am not disputing how difficult this achievement is. It's pretty amazing. But how can it be considered "one of billiard hard (sic) achievements" when literally every top player has accomplished it? And the top players of any generation (S. Davis, Hendry, O'Sullivan, Trump plus all the next echelon) have accomplished it multiple times each in tournament play.

This reads as if you're saying playing 3-cushion is harder. What is harder? I've played 3-Cushion and have a high run of 4. LOL!!! That's not harder than a perfect 147 break. Is there a high run that you consider as an equivalent?

It feels like running a 300 in a 14.1 tournament is about the same difficulty just considering how many 300s have been run in any high run attempts. Maybe if we had more high run events, we could come up with an equivalent difficulty for 14.1

“Top Players”

It great to hear! Funny many "experts" don't like his stroke. 😂
He has a horrible stroke. If you watch him from straight on you can see that he does not stroke back and forth along the line of the shot; he cues across the line. It's like he lines up to miss but on his forward stroke he is able to time it perfectly so that he hits along the line of aim. This is why Judd is so inconsistent from tournament to tournament.

His stroke is terrible!

Or maybe the "experts" really don't know what a good stroke looks like. What is your definition of stroke?

Let me help you, it looks like a Professional running 147s. 😂

Yes, and he still has a good stroke. I have listened to "experts" talk about Francisco and Efren. Do they have good strokes? The answer is yes, because it's repeatable at the highest level.

Trump's stroke is unusual, but obviously good.

At some point serious players just play.
