I suppose this imaginary new tour wouldn't want to be WPA sanctioned? That's not a new US tour though. If a union happened, I'm guessing a new tour would also start.

That's the way snooker has gone over the last decade. Its all betting companies now.the cazoo sponsor Is a recent one.
A long time ago it was cigarettes.
100% they are a safer bet for corp clean image branding, good point!!The new kids on the block seem to be more professional which would help attract a good sponsor. Maybe we see it in our lifetime. Hopefully
It already has the association of hustlers, snitches, and thieves. Not the image pro pool needs to be associated with given the perception most have of pool.
FWIW I’ve never smoked weed once in my life. I’m not against it. Just not my thing.
The gummies are ok once in a blue moon. But they keep me awake. I might be the only person ever who gets wired up on them. I wish they helped me sleep. I’ve tried lots of different types over the years and some make me laugh, which is cool.I've smoked at least a ton in my life. Don't smoke anymore but take gummies to sleep. They're the nuts.
That's the image that needs to be corrected and one of the things DAZ mentioned in his interview for the purpose in organizing a player's association. Being sponsored by the cannabis industry would not facilitate the endeavor. It already has the association of hustlers, snitches, and thieves.
How would pot make this any worse ?
cazoo is a chain of car dealerships. but yes i would like to see more betting companies and online casinos as sponsors. they have a lot of dough.
weed is illegal where i live. i don't smoke, but i want it legalized. for pool i don't think it would be an optimal sponsor. just think how would parents think when they see their kid watching an event with a big marijuana leaf behind the pool table and a website to go with it? i think it could have a negative effect with some potential viewers turning away.
True but it only became illegal in other countries (mostly) because of the US pushing it’s ‘war on drugs’ bs back in the day (even before they came up with that catchy name). Once the fed drops the charade hopefully the others do as well. No more threat of pulling aid, closed door bs etc over laws.
The US doesn’t have as strong an influence as in the past but they’re still up there in the world.
If a MJ company wants to sponsor I’d say that’s a great thing. The world is always changing and this is finally a change for the better. Alcohol is one of the most destructive drugs we have but it’s been heavily ingrained into our culture. MJ is basically it’s polar opposite and if it can replace alcohol as the #1 culturally acceptable escape/recreational substance we will be heading the right way.
I hope I see it pop up in pool and all the Miller lite sports.
I also refer you back to the "bring back Hustling culture" thread of last week. That's the image that needs to be corrected and one of the things DAZ mentioned in his interview for the purpose in organizing a player's association. Being sponsored by the cannabis industry would not facilitate the endeavor.
