Nick Varner Weight Bolt Size

Escott Cues
I have a friend that has an inexpensive Nick Varner cue and wants to adjust the weight. Can't find anything online about the specs. I haven't seen the cue yet, but she says there isn't a bolt in it to compare.

Anyone know the size and threads or what brand of weight bolt would fit?

Pull bolt, go to hardware store like Ace, or True Value.

They have three gauges you can test& find out.

Well when Cue is in hand you might solve mystery, had guy two weeks ago with rattle Cue.

Said self weight bolt is loose, to guy who said no bolt. Butt cap removed, and like Gomer Pyle he said wow.

But was TORX, told him stop by Auto Restoration Club, bet the have right tool.

They did, rattle gone.

Here's a picture of their weight bolt, looks to be specific to their cues.

Thanks for that.
I ended up finding a bolt around 4oz from another cue. I added weight by welding a stainless rod to the end of the bolt to extend it.
As you probably know, currently the NV cues are made in China. The quality is probably similar to Player and Purex cues. My NV cue was given to me by my daughter about two years ago, when I was only starting to play pool. Since then I have learned a lot and my game has progressed significantly. Recently I tried several ‘high end’ cues (Predator and others) with the same type of soft tip that is on my NV, and, while I was able to feel the difference I didn’t think they made me play any better. So, I had no desire to ‘upgrade’. However, the apparent lack of availability of a suitable screw-in extension for my NV was an issue. I purchased a Bazooka extension but I found it u reliable and too bulky. The local NV dealer told me that their NV clients frequently ask for an extension but none is available. Then I called the number on the Nick Varner Cues website. I asked the question to the lady that answered the phone upon which she transferd the call to ‘technical support’ , who answers? Nick himself. He told me that he hates screw-in extensions, he said he uses the Bazooka. I chatted with Nick (who came across as the nicest guy) for a little bit and had a few laughs with him, but my issue remained unresolved, The Chinese make an extension that they say fits Players, Lucasi and Purex cues perfectly, they sell it for $68 on Amazon under the name Balance Rite. It screws directly in the middle of the weight bolt, which is what made me explore the NV weight bolt. I discovered that it has a 10-24 female thread dead center. Unfortunately the male thread on the Balance Rite is M4. I looked all over for a 10-24 to M4 adapter but none exists. So, I embarked on coming up with my own extension. I drew it in sketchup with precise dimensions and sent it to my brother who has a friend that has a wood lathe and enjoys challenges. The piece looked great. I screwed a 3 inch 10-24 hanger bolt dead center using the pilot hole that was drilled with the lathe, finished it with 10 coats of polyurethane, cut a 1/4” hole in the butt bumper and voila, I had an extension !!. I also made a little ‘bullet’ guide by grinding the tip of the hanger bolt with a dremmel, this made it much easier and faster to screw it in place. It works perfectly. If anybody is interested in embarking on a similar project and would like more details please feel free to contact me.
