The 9ball championships and winner break excitement.

No body wants to come to a tournament and not get a chance to play!!! Who wants to spend $1500.00 to come to a tournament and never shoot? So You go to a tournament and you play the Ko brothers back to back, or Earl and Busty, SVB and Alex?

Alternate break means you'll a least come to the table, from there its up to you.
It's never up to you. Big secret...

In every other sport the opposing team/player gets a chance to respond after a score. Imagine in football Mahomes got to stay on the field when he scored a touchdown or you had to break Federer's serve for a chance to serve yourself.

It doesn't make sense to me. You could literally lose the lag and then not shoot again. How is that an exciting match? Sure its great when a guy runs a bunch of packages but there are just as many great matches in alternate break formats.
Of you ever break and run a set out, it’s exciting. I promise you that.

I look at playing pool like boxing….if you put a guy down for the count on the first punch…the bout is over.
Like Mike Tyson said

“Everyone has a plan until they get knocked out”

Nothing could be more true

Winner break IS pool. When we are playing tennis or basketball we’ll go by their rules

That's what is so special about our game, sport, whatever you call it.
You break the balls and they end up in spots that have never happened before (unless your corey using a template) and won' again.
Name me another game, sport where you can compete and maybe not compete.

FTR basketball used to feature a jump ball after every basket. That wasn't eliminated until 46 years after James Naismith first introduced the game of basketball. Imagine a pool match where players would lag after every game to determine who broke next.

I think rotation used to be played like that in the Philippines.

Yes, a story I remember went something like this:

Joeblow: Efren, what's the most games you have run in a row in Rotation?
Efren: 4
Joeblow: 4? I thought it would be more than that. What happened?
Efren: I lost the lag.

After thinking about this and reading all the comments I think I am now for winner break as long is the race is long enough lets say 9
