She has been through a lot in the last few years. I am happy her story will be told in a new 30 for 30 Documentary- They are always great!

didnt think so.... so why do a documentary on a sport they care nothing about. i would rather see someone else do documentaries on players and the sport like Acu-stats maybe. seems they are just using this as an opportunity
A least it will get views outside of the pool world. She is probably the most recognizable Professional Pool Player ever. Considering what she has accomplished in pool and through sponsors and marketing and what she is currently going through... ESPN is using it as an opportunity, but it is also good for her and for pool.

wow. so positive. ESPN has a long history of showing women's pro pool. She played a lot on the WPBA tour and was easily their most well-known player. Really nice of them them doing this.

Well yeah she is, but still they completely abandoned pool. Not sure why events quit being aired

What do you think caused it?? Simple, MONEY. WPBA was buying airtime. The dough ran out. ESPN is not in the pool promotion business. If they can't make money selling ads they are OUT. Same reason fkng cornhole IS on, money. Cornhole has lots of sponsors who enable the 'holers to buy airtime.

This is a big deal. This may be one of the first times ever that ESPN is doing something with pool and not being paid to do so. Instead, they are doing it themselves. I don't foresee this turning into pool on ESPN but it does put a great spotlight on the sport and one its greatest ambassadors. Can't wait to see it.

Agree 1000%.

It blows my mind how many people don't get this. "They like cornhole more dan pool!!!" No, a big fat Johnsonville Brats sponsorship allows them to buy airtime and pool doesn't have that.

Many do not understand the entire point of their TV's: TO SELL ADVERTISING... Good for ESPN and Mrs. Lee! I think pool might end up back on there. IMO the industry is gaining speed and with the slow state to state legalization of Sports Gambling: Pool might just have a future on TV. Ohio has allowed Sports Gambling as of 2023, Cue Sports can be a part of that!!! Lots of work to be done. Hopefully this will end all the "underground" and illegal gambling hustles out there. IMO big $$$ sponsors do not want anything to do with our industry because of illegal gambling and it's "acceptance" by the industry and players. Just my view.

CONGRATS TO JEANETTE LEE! I will make sure to watch it.

EXACTLY. Has nothing to with 'like' other than ESPN liking MONEY.
Whaaaat?? People make money off of their TV BUSINESS'S?? Yup. Radio was how they refined advertising and TV was held back for about 20 years. They needed to figure out how to turn TV from an educational tool into a mind eraser/ money maker!! I was a Comm. Major in College and studied all of this in detail. If everyone knew the truth: would they all participate like they do?? IMO: NO.

Go watch some old 50's tv online. They were ad FILLED from day one. TV has always been ad driven. The only reason it exists. Sure they wanted good programming to get folks to sweat it but it was the commercials that made the whole thing go.

Absolutely. Propaganda is a tool they used to sell ads and NEWS. It still works today!

Programming = exactly as it sounds: Program them to watch/listen and THEY WILL REACT!!

"I would rather see someone else do documentaries on pool than ESPN doing a 30 for 30 on Jeanette Lee" may top "Matchroom should do a one pocket tournament" as my favorite comment ever on these forums.
