World Cup of Pool - DAZN or Facebook

Does anyone know if the World Cup of Pool will be broadcast on DAZN or Facebook in the US? The UK Open was supposed to be broadcast on DAZN but was not. I'd prefer to not pay for another month of DAZN if they will not be broadcasting Matchroom Pool events.

Try Matchroom live:
I tried matchroom.live for the final match of the UK Open. They had one camera at floor level pointed at the foot end of the table. You could not see anything on the playing surface. I checked back many times during the match and it was the same every time I looked. In other words, it was no better for watching the match than DAZN, which had nothing.

[Somebody neglected to switch the picture from that camera to the actual match cameras?]

Try Matchroom live:

In the past, when DAZN was working, Matchroom Live wouldn't show duplicate content in the US so you had to watch on DAZN in the US. I see the DAZN logo on the poster for the world cup, but also a new YouTube logo.

So we can assume we will all be surprised when the tournament starts.

If everything is working properly, DAZN would broadcast Table 1 matches and YouTube Table 2 matches.

It’s safe to assume all Matchroom Pool events will be in DAZN for the US unless they have a snafu. UK Open had a snafu. Are you asking us if we expect the World Cup of Pool to also have a snafu? I anticipate not.

Personally I pay the annual DAZN membership. With the number of Matchroom events on the calendar, I can’t imagine subscribing and cancelling month-by-month. I can see why someone doing that would fret over a DAZN snafu where an annual member would shrug it off.

Unless, of course the relationship between DAZN and Matchroom has soured which would leave you with no pool for the remainder of the subscription.

I have the annual subscription too and it's great when it works. I don't currently have a Matchroom Live subscription, but I would pay for that too if that's where Matchroom posted pool content. But I would drop DAZN if Matchroom was going to post everything to Facebook (or Matchroom Live).

Neither DAZN nor Matchroom appear to care about the US market for these events, so we should be happy for whatever scraps we get.

i've contacted mr a few times on this. ZERO reply. i tried both fb and email. they are horrible at returning msg's.

Mike from Billiards Digest posted on FB that Matchroom (all it's sports) has a big deal with DAZN for US distribution so pool can't be moved to another service.

WTF??? They showed it on FB so that's horseshit.

I suspect because DAZN didn't broadcast it the US distribution rights reverted to Matchroom. I couldn't tell from Emily's interview if DAZN chose not to show pool or if it was an accident. But either way neither company seems to care.

They wouldn't have bought the US Open if they didn't care so i don't agree with this take at all. Last weekend looked more like a tech. glitch than anything else. I've msg'd MRPool via both FB and email. Haven't heard back yet. I'm giving them a little leeway until they respond(or don't).

To wishy-washy for me to commit to an annual subscription.

I just got off a chat with a DAZN agent. Complete waste of time. They dodge questions better than a politician in front of a microphone. I wouldn't give these morons a fkng quarter. MR is not much better. They do NOT handle criticism well AT ALL.

For three years I’ve been able to ride the assumption that Matchroom is broadcasting on DAZN to the US. In circumstances like this, I’m assuming the UK Open snafu was a blip and everything after will be business as usual. One day I’m sure that’ll change but I’m comfortable riding my money on those assumptions. The alternative just is not worth my time and attention.
