Art Cantando

Red Malle Burl into Ebony, 6 points....3 high 3 low, chain rings, ivory joint and ivory butt and all the white is ivory, radial pin, real lizard wrap.
Can't describe how happy and luck I was to find one of Art's masterpieces in brand new, unchalked condition.
Art built some of the nicest cues thst are fantastic players too. His sense for aesthetic was amazing.

About Art Cantando

Art played a lot of pool when he was a teenager. When it was time to make a living , he went into the car repair business with his family. He then started his own succcessful bussines. Along the way he learned leather carving and he carved animals on gun cases and holsters and the like.
Whenbhe retired, he decided to pursue another field, cue making. His goal was to build a good playing cue. He talked to Barry Szamboti, who he knew, and who put tips on cues for him. Art brought a lathe and began doing his own tip work and this led to making cues which he started buiding in 1997.
Art owes his success to friends Tony Scianella from Black Boar, Jeff Prather and most of all Barry Szamboti.

Enjoy the pics!

I first saw an Art Cantando cue at Cornerstone, and I really liked his style. Of course, no cues listed for sale at Cornerstone are actually available, so no Art Cantando cue for me.

Beautiful pictures. Thanks for sharing them and the backstory.

You are very welcome. Art's work is really special and needs to be appreciated!
Glad you like the cue and the pics!

I talked to Art one time at a show and congratulated him on his cues becoming so popular. He replied back that if his cues are becoming so popular someone forgot to tell his wallet about it. He seemed to have a good sense of humor.

Thank for sharing this Chris!

He was also an avid hunter; traveled extensively to pursue that passion. My brother bought some of his equipment from his estate.
