Rasson table rails

Had a new 9' Rasson Challenger installed in April of this year with factory rails and new simonis 860, new predator arco. I play about 1-2 hrs each day on average and the rails kind of kills the spin of the cue ball. At first I thought it's just the combination of new table cloth/rail/balls effect and will be better with time, but for some reason the problem still exists today. I'm not sure if I am describing the problem accurately, it's especially apparent when I hit with draw/stun-draw on a shot and the cue ball travels a bit before hitting the rail, it would just die after contacting the rail instead of coming out in the direction of the spin.

Also don't know if this matters, I had the mechanic reduce the pocket size from a standard 4.5" to 4.25", I think he added some shims, they are very stiff and they might be "clamping" the rails from both sides and affect the vibration of the rubber (just my theoretical self-diagnose).

Thanks for your time in advance.

The facings will not affect the rebound except for very close to them. Get a tape and measure exactly how far off of the bed of the table the nose of the cushions are. They should be right around 1-7/16". If they are high, it will cause the ball to slow. If low, they will hop and bounce faster.

You may want to check the rail bolts, to make sure that they are tight.

Thanks for the responses, checked both, height is correct and bolts are very secure
