Longest league match/tournament

I just ran across a local league match that went on at 30-35 minutes A GAME.
A hill hill race to even 3 at that pace would take 2.5 hours. Imagine sitting through that on a weekday league night...

Longest I've witnessed was a 9 ball match between a pair of SL 1s on a 9' Diamond table.

They could only make a ball if their opponent missed and hung it in the jaws. Anything more difficult than that was almost a guaranteed miss. And even when they were shooting at hangers, they were liable to follow the cue ball in or even miscue.

At APA three weeks ago, I watched a 2-1 8-ball match that lasted almost an hour and a half. This is why I only sub on APA

In the 8 Ball league I play in there are 16 total games played.

In the past they used to allow two timeouts per game, now only one is allowed.

When they allowed 2 timeouts, it once took 4 and a half hours to play the 16 games!

Even though there was supposed to be a time limit on timeouts, the team we played would discuss strategy for far too long.

I like going by skill level for timeouts. My local league based on Fargo has one timeout for 351 + and two for 350 and under. I think the 250 and under may even get more than that since we are trying to get new players to learn the game and grow into "players".

90 second timeout limits are good. Not counting the time it takes to sometimes find the good player at the bar or bathroom LOL

Seems 30-35 mins a game is normal for the worst players. I just never actually timed how long it took till I watched this match that was streamed and realized at the 30 min mark they were still on their first game It did not help that the racks were loose and the breaking was bad so there was a mess of balls in the middle each game.
