Has anyone ever seen a 5 veneer Joss? I've looked everywhere I can and cannot seem to find one but a cue that I have has 5. Ebony points, maple/green/green/orange/black. I had pondered the possibility of it being a Spain forearm as he was one who used 5 veneers but haven't seen another.

Have you called and asked Dan how many they made? You may have a rare piece. How old is it? Was it made when Bill and Dan were still partners?

Haven't contacted Dan yet, was hoping to find that someone else owned or had seen one first. I'm guessing it's around 72-3

That's the original '68-'72 logo. They changed to a more 'block' letter(no slanted letters) logo sometime in 70's
Did Bill and Dan use Spain blanks in the early cues? I've searched long and hard and can't find another cue that has 5 veneers anywhere on the internet or in books.

That's 100% not a Spain

They did a lot of wacky veneer combos early on. I had a 3-veneer with a 1/4" thick maple, 1/4" thick orange, and a thin black.

I think I have a couple. One has 5 and one has 6. I’ll see if I can post pictures. One has double natural and the other has double red.

File size is too big to post pics. I figured it out……

My ‘68 Joss has five veneers…..never counted them before.
You know, considering this it makes me wonder how many people have never counted the veneers on their old Joss. It would explain why I couldn't find anything regarding the subject online or in books.
