Exceed refinishing

I am debating on refinishing a Mezz Exceed. In full disclosure, I am not too familiar with these cues at all and kind of stumbled into this one. It’s a simple no wrap merry widow.

Am I hurting its value by having Jacoby refinish it vs. Miki Co. in Japan?

Unless this cue is something very special I would not send it to Japan. The back and forth shipping will be expensive.

Well, if the cue WAS something very special, even more reason NOT to risk sending it all the way to Japan and back

i would just send it state side to someone like proficient billiards. i think with really high end customs there is some rationale to pay more to have a cue refinished by the original maker, I would not be concerned with that on a high end production cue…. Just my .02

Cody Cash(PK Customs) in wichita does really nice re-finishes. I wouldn't send it to Japan just for this. Not that hard of a job.

Jacoby quoted me a fair price on refinishing. I figure I’ll support them since they are close to home. Just wanted to make sure I didn’t forever taint the value of the cue by doing so. I’ve never had a cue refinished but thinking about keeping this one for me and bringing it back to life.
