3D print of the charging station for the ball. The sensor inside the ball can be up to 10mm from the edge of the ball, so I can’t use Qi… I needed to make my own custom electronics.

It won’t be grey obviously, I am unsure what color to go with. Also not sure about the look of the vent holes.

It uses an ac adapter, not shown.

Thought: if you need vent holes for heat reduction, you can make the holes spell Digiball, it'll serve 2 purposes and also be less obvious.

How much play does your prototype get without a recharge?

And what does it do?

It sends information to an app that tells you exactly where the tip hit the ball. Completely hands free, unlike traditional training balls, and much more accurate than trying to align a ball graphic and then looking for a chalk mark later on.

It also tells you shot speed, spin, rail impacts, jumps, as well as other things. It even has a shot clock.

“Sorry but we can‘t play for 4 hours. I need to charge the cue ball.”

Just kidding, looking forward to the final product. ;)

Cool. Thanks.

Is it marked so it can tell you where you tried to hit it?

Not on the ball, but in the app.

The app tells you where you did hit it, and if you want, you can also mark in the app before your shot where you are trying to hit it. There is no mark on the ball, just like a normal cue ball.

There’s gonna be a wave of jokes coming. I am going to have to think of a lot of pre-answered questions. Especially that the ball can’t change its path and make the object balls for you, etc. I’ll need to brainstorm lol

It can tell where "centerball" is and how far/what direction you hit from it no matter how you place it, huh?

Even cooler than I thought. :)(y)

cool! might what's coming out of the vent holes (heat?) affect the construction/play of the cb?

for color, how about blue? blue and white seem to jibe with your avi motif, anyway-

Actually, heat may discolor the ball over a long time. But the charger doesn’t produce too much, however good point.

Playability, no. Heat Won’t affect it at all

The balls are baked at 100degC for days to cure them.

Maybe blue.

appreciate the engagement. think I said so in another thread, but I think the digiball is a terrific idea- best of luck with it!

(and good thing you didn't name or color the ball blue, otherwise the jokes might be non-stop..)

Any chance that this ball would be made for snooker as well? (52.5 mm in diameter)

I can't wait to get one of these when they're ready. Any ETA as to when they will be available?
