I was surprised that each team didn’t throw out many zingers at one another like years past. I wonder if Matchroom asked them to keep it a little more professional this year??
 
I just tried re-subscribing to DAZN, but when I clicked on the "RESUBSCRIBE" tab, all I got was this:

Idk if you have an IPhone but I resubscribed from the settings in my iPhone. Might try that 🤷🏼‍♂️

Unfortunately no IPhone, only the same desktop that's worked perfectly for all previous DAZN tournaments.

I don't even know what a VPN is. What I do know is that I've used DAZN to watch pool tournaments on my desktop for years, and all of a sudden the "RESUBSCRIBE" tab leads to a dead end.

Might need to update your browser, could be an issue with the browser interfacing with DAZN

just Listen to Barry Hearn. He's the reason I was so excited for matchroom. He believes in this game and he’s an amazing promoter. You can hear it in his voice. Pool may finally get the respect it deserves
 
what do they do a conference for? are they gonna start doing wwf style promo vids or get up and do ufc face offs and shove each other?
 
Lord knows I tried being a citizen by buying the stream last year. But when Dazn informed me I had to give 30 days notice to cancel that feeling of legitimacy left my body.

I will be stealing the stream from a pirate this year.

Im not sure there is a need for it ether, i haven't watched it, but in the past europe always seem to have some needle towards USA. Which i guess is what thay want, with this style of press conference.
I doubt anyone has any real animosity, towards earch other. Its more for the event itself.

This event is very much about show, so the press conference is there to generate hype, ideally (from Matchroom's perspective) suggest animosity between the two teams (which wasn't the case today and is probably less so these days as they all know each other so well anyway now I'd imagine).

Also of course today it was about Barry Hearn setting out his vision for 9-Ball, with the new professional tour announced (which sounds like a similar model to the World Snooker Tour) and his announcement he's going to play in the US Open next year, was interesting to hear he used to play money matches in the US, I had no idea about that!

It’s promotion. Just like any big sporting event. Just like the Ryder cup which is what this event is based on.

Yep too right. Mind you i remember 98 onwards, the best. It didn't seem, like such a big deal back then. it was still just as exciting.
I just watch the start of this one, that was some speech from barry.
Also probably, the most relaxed press conference, i think i've seen in many years. That was nice to see!

yes, mostly these boys are acting very professional. good rolemodels all of them, jayson sometimes being the exception. i watched a little of it, FSR said something that i don't know was in jest or true, that he just now changed sponsor and will be playing with the new cue brand tomorrow. i thought that sounded unwise if it's really the case. fedor changed some month ago, but with his practice hours he's probably adjusted already.
