It's amazing how many people don't understand that.you can do whatever you and your gambling partner agree to
It's amazing how many nits have to concoct goofy rules in an effort to give themselves an advantage or "level" the playing field. It's amazing how many people don't understand that.
I agree.yes eliminate all luck out of the game. then you can just compare fargo ratings and declare the winner without having to waste the time playing.
but when gambling you want to have as much luck as possible in the game. or dont you understand that. the losing player or the worse player has to think he has a chance or wont play or will quit as soon as he sees he has no chance.
Correction...I never said 'no early nine balls'. I said no nine balls on the break. A combination on the nine is fine as long as you call it. Jump shots are legal if the establishment allows them and they're executed correctly.Yes his rules are the ones that should be followed, no early nine balls, and call pocket. It sounds very much like 'Grady's rules' which were posted on this forum some time back. I'd throw in no jumps shots as well just for good measure.
Just play 10B which also has the rule if you inadvertently pocket a ball the incoming player has the option.Yes his rules are the ones that should be followed, no early nine balls, and call pocket. Are you saying that call pocket is a 'goofy rule'?It's amazing how many nits have to concoct goofy rules in an effort to give themselves an advantage or "level" the playing field.
And that's just fine if you choose to play that way.Well hardly anyone ever gambles at 8 ball, which is already a called shot game, so that's a moot point.
9 ball is supposed to be all balls wild. There has been a recent trend in the NE area where the 9 has to be called, and some people even want all balls called. It's a horrible "change" IMO, and I avoid playing with that ruleset if possible. I'm super happy MR is playing 9 ball by the real rules of "all luck counts" and "all 2 way shots are possible".
No. The only games that should be called pocket IMO are 14-1, 8 ball, and bank pool. 9 ball, 10 ball, one pocket, should all be all luck, IMO. The WPA ruined 10 ball with their called shot/called safe ruleset.Of course. Don't you?

In gambling, you can do whatever you want, of course.
Just now you need new rules to cover your changed rules, such as what happens if you chit in the 9, but another ball goes in. Or, what happens if you chit in the 9, and no other ball goes in. Or, what happens if you call and make your ball, but also chit in the 9. Or, what happens if you are on the 9 by itself, chit it in the wrong pocket, what happens. All of the above in call every ball scenario, and call only 9 scenario. All those have to be clarified, and different people play them different ways
Please explain what a 'chit' is. As far as the other questions, I believe I answered them in my initial statement.
Luck in the balls. Should be spelled with an "s". Didn't want the sensor to flag it.Before I answer your questions. please explain what a 'chit' is.
It's not complicated. Really. By the way, the definition of 'chit' is a 'saucy, young girl' or 'a child'.Luck in the balls. Should be spelled with an "s". Didn't want the sensor to flag it.
ha, I didn't know that. The forum used to automatically sensor curse words. IDK if it still does. It's not complicated. Really. By the way, the definition of 'chit' is a 'saucy, young girl' or 'a child'.
WTF?? The rules for all pool games have been fairly well established, especially those that are your normal 'action' games. Even playing call-shot there's going to be lucky rolls so why try to remove all luck from the game?? Not gonna happen. Even playing 'accepted' 9b there's not that much luck unless both players are hacks that go for a lot of stupid shots. Better player is going to win way more often regardless of any 'luck factor'.The rules in a money game are set by the players of said money game. There are no 'recognized & well established rules'.
ACTION.The rules are set before you play. There are no arguuments.
