Archer and Oscar talk it out live today at 3:00 CST

I agree something if fishy here. Why discuss this publicly? My guess would be a grudge match will come of it and they'll try to sell that stream. This podcast is advertising / promotion for the upcoming paid streamed grudge match. Like an MMA weigh in...
We have a winner.

This is exactly what it is.

If we are speculating...

Archer is broke and has realized he put all his eggs in the pool playing basket so he's making one last go at it, hoping to cash in some of Matchroom's chips. He's now in the any attention is good attention mode.

I'd guess Oscar agreed to this reluctantly. If this has been over 65 hundred dollars that's really sad on Archer's part.

I don't see them playing again. Oscar is younger and plays a lot more pool. Johnny would need some weight. As for the 'cast Molina is probably best in the business doing these pool-casts. He'll keep it civil and on-point. I don't see any flaming drama here.

Actually, I would pay to watch Oscar torch Johnny in a race to 21 or something. Anything longer and I would not be able to handle Archer picking lint off the table for 5 whole minutes per game. We can even title it "Winner Gets a Wild Card Pick for MC". Oscar needs to be on that team this year if we want to win.

Edit: Your original post said something about "there's no $ to be made off one stream" or something like that, hence my reply.

He's been on the team and didn't do much iirc. He can't beat that Wolford kid. Might beat Styer but it would be close.

You can apply this logic to SVB also lol, or literally ANY other American that has played for the Cup recently. They have not done much. But I believe Oscar has been playing the strongest he's ever played and definitely a speed above when he last played in the Cup. I actually have him beating Styer and Wolford in a long race. I don't have him beating Gorst, SVB, or Woodward.

In 2022, Oscar only played 2 doubles (w/ Styer & Strickland) and 1 singles match (Shaw) and lost all 3. That's hardly anything to go off of.

The usual take for a YT streamer is about 10bux per 1000 ad views AND the ads must be viewed at least 50% through. Not a lot to be made until you have a ton of regular viewers. I do not see today's 'cast leading to a match. Archer at TS last weekend was playing pretty rough.

Obviously if we're talking making money from YouTube views then there is no money there unless you have thousands and thousands of subscribers. However, I am talking about a Pay-per-view match that is livestreamed at a venue that serves liquor and food. There is money to be made there. Especially for a grudge match like this where the players actually dislike each other. Archer playing rough at TS has nothing to do with a grudge match with money in the middle and everyone has eyes on it. I'd watch that train-wreck. The podcast later today could serve as promotion and hype for the match to be played at a later time. They will need to promote and get people excited for it. Talking smack to each other on a podcast will do that. Much like face-offs or weigh-ins before a UFC match or those celebrity Boxing matches.

Only one person should be putting money in the middle.

Hard agree. I don't know how they will work that out. There has to be some kind of stipulation that if Johnny does win, he still MUST pay back Oscar with the proceeds. He's basically in a lose-lose situation if he does agree to a match.

Let's say Johnny finds a backer to put up $6,500 in the middle. Oscar has the balls and skill to also put up $6,500 even though he shouldn't have to. Oscar wins match, problem solved and everyone moves on. I am basing all of this on the fact that Archer has zero chance of ever winning, at his current speed.

OR, hear me out, orrrrr, they could set up a celebrity boxing fight. This is what I'd do if someone owed me $6,500 for 10 years.

If I'm Oscar there is no way I'm doing that. He shouldn't have to win another match to get his money from the first match.

I agree with you. I'm just trying to think of how Oscar can profit from this and make even more money than he is owed, from the proceeds of the ppv sales, door fees for people that want to watch in person, sponsorship, etc. He owns Hardtimes so he can host it there and directly profit from the spectators buying food and drinks, and the live stream. This could be an epic live stream PPV match if it does go down, where Oscar could benefit a lot from. If he hasn't been paid for 10 years, he gotta GET IT BACK IN BLOOD (non-violently), with the entire pool community watching.

Someone mentioned this happened like 10 years ago, so it's been stewing awhile.

$6,500 in 2013 is the same as $8,400 today due to inflation. If 6% APR interest was earned on in it, it would be worth $15,043 today. (or same interest on $6,500 for 10 years would be $11,640 today).

Bottom line....he lost and should have paid. That's not opinion....it's a simple fact. You bet, you win, you collect. You bet, you lose, you pay.

Nothing else is acceptable. At minimum, he should be making a genuine effort to get this squared up and not making excuses.

While I really enjoy the Doggin' It podcast, one thing that bothers me is the amount of censorship on that channel. They will mute or block anyone that says anything remotely negative or something they don't like or agree with, but yet they say negative things and discuss drama often. I know it's their channel and they can do whatever they want, but the contradictory leaves a bad taste in my mouth. You can't instigate and entice drama but then moderate the chat to keep everything positive, it's weird. My only gripe with the show.

I love the banter between the two hosts, they do be trying to roast each other from time to time, which is funny. But if you tried roasting them, you'd be banned or muted. I've seen it happen to multiple people in the chat. I understand moderating the chat if someone is rude, obnoxious, disrespectful, or just a straight up A-hole, but you can't do it for every little thing. Comes off as very sensitive, like most people on this forum lol. Pool players can't take a joke to save their lives.

Upstate AL does the same thing.
