Choice of cushions.....

We modified a table temporarily without changing the cushions, so with 3/8'' sanded beveled 50A facings, I placed the corner angles at 140 degrees and 4 7/8'' wide and the sides at 101.5 degrees and 5 1/4'' wide, the result is very good, all the players like it, the only thing I find is that the balls tend to bounce a little too much with hard shots, that tells me that with new cushions and the right degrees and 3/16'' 60A facings it will be perfect.

1 3/4" K55 cushions, bank short and very springy.

Why is there a half circle of empty space behind a cushion and why did Predator or their manufacturer fill this empty space? What to think about this, we are on one of the largest forums in the field, it would be nice to have opinions.

If you don't have the same rail design, what's to think about?
Why should we have exactly the same rail design and the same aluminum material to fill the back of the cushion. Maybe we shouldn't make it more complicated than it is! These rail are certainly stiff and the cushions are like others...

Because everyone has to be different than everyone else, how else are they going to claim THEIR pool tables are the best, if they're no different than everyone elses!

Personally, I can't stand the aluminum extruded rail design, it's cheap as hell, and you can't do shit with changing them to make them play better, and trust me, that wood to staple the cloth to wears out, and it's a joke to replace!!! And they sound hollow, because they are!!!

Okay, but apart from that fact, maybe this principle of filling the back of the cushion is not so bad and that it could apply to wooden rails.
Perhaps no company has the best table across the board, but the Predator frame is certainly one of the strongest.
Yes I saw rails deformed by punches, it's not very good for public places.

If the Predator frame was so strong that wouldn't have so many problems setting their 9fts up, having crowned slates. The hump in the back of the cushions has been done by many table manufacturers, only to be discontinued because of changing cushion designed and not being able to do so with cushions that don't match the subrails.

Yes it's a fact, my little intrigue is that with 1 5/8'' rails I should choose the K66, but all high end tables have K55, there must be a reason for that, the K55 cushions are bigger than the K66 and can surely take bigger hits. Here I'm lining up to do a big rail job and I really want to get the best results with what we have to go with, it's not a problem for me to put the rails at any height and nose of cushions too, the only thing is that I have no right to be wrong, that's a bit of my worry.

Put K55 and K66 cushions end to end, then compare the nose height positions.

You said that K66 are 1/8 higher I think, here we have K55 on 1 5/8'' and the rebound are not good, I have somewhere in my head that I would be better to adjust the rail and keep the K55 than just go with K66.

I've given you my advice, do what you want.

No, I never ask you the best between k66 or rails modifications with K55, we never talk about that, and why hign end table are all with K55? Thicker rail with K55 is not better than 1 5/8'' with K66, that's my interrogation!

You don't understand the difference between K55 and K66, and I'm done explaining.

Ok that's your choice, but from what I seen here K66 play well at 1 3/8'' nose height with 1 5/8 or less subrail and K55 play well on 1 11/16 subrail and nose at 1 27/64'' but wich one play better, I don't know that's my interrogation, I don't think that I'm wrong at all!

I wasn't trying to contradict you, I was just trying to understand my best option with what I read here, that's all!

Grabiel pool table, on their site, they use P59 Klematch and it's said that's a profile like K55!
