B4 Xmas, I had a Convo on here w some guys about whether I could tell the difference between the two joints, who flatly stated no one could tell, tests have been done, etc...
Recent snow day here in St. Louie, and local hall was dead. To my surprise, I walked in to find 6 cues wrapped in black plastic w nothing but the tips visible. 2 phenolic tipped cues were also wrapped. More on that later.
I was given each cue and told to make 3 shots each of stop shot, short draw, med draw, Long draw, high English straight-ins - 2 rails out of the corner, and break shots.
Out of the 6 cues, I correctly identified 5!!
For an old road dawg like me, I thot that was pretty damn good results!!
The cue that threw me was a Scruggs sneaky!!
Coulda swore that damn thing was a steel jointed cue!! Lol.

The tips were all non-layered, couldn't see the ferrules until afterwards, but they did their best to keep each cue as similar to the next as possible that way, except for the joint, of course.
Now for the phenolic snap sticks...
I missed both!!
Couldn't tell which was Steel and which was implex. They both hit like sledgehammers and we're impossible to differentiate, imo.
I was ecstatic w my 5 out of 6 tho, so take this for what it's worth. Basically not much, as this wasn't much of a test. Lol.
Just something my local hall owner did to shut me up on the subject and let me know they valued my business enuf to do this for me.
I really appreciate it guys!!
Gave me the warm fuzzies once the adrenaline wore off!!

Shout out to all the hustlers who are now Hall Owners!!!
