Sales tax is STATE TAX not FEDERAL, EVERYONE also pays federal tax on every gallon of gas that they buy, you have no idea how much someone making 12 mil a year needs to maintain their lifestyle and it's really none of your business, what is my business is how much of my money the Government takes and what is that money spent on, you think the Government cares about working Americans? I know someone very very close to me who got a $6500 Christmas bonus this year from a private business because they actually care about their employee's, because the bonus was not considered a "paycheck" their bonus was taxed Federally $3000, I know for a FACT this person makes less than $50k a year, as an added bonus the $6500 will be added to the earnings for the year and be taxed again in April, Millionaires and Billionaires ......RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!

The taxes you pay throughout the year are estimates of your annual tax payment. You, as in YOU the employee, complete a W4 to tell the government your best guess at what deductions you will have at the end of the year, then they take out an appropriate amount of taxes per paycheck for the year. If you get a bonus, it's quite possible your overall income may increase drastically (will you get another bonus?) so they take more taxes to ensure it's covered.
At the end of the year when reconcile with the IRS (file your taxes) you then tell the government EXACTLEY how much you made and they tell you EXACTLEY how much you owe in taxes and you either get a refund or you owe money. At the end of the year, after all your income and deductions are reconciled you will get taxed a certain percentage - THAT is your effective tax rate and it's the tax rate you'll pay on ALL of your income.
There is no double taxation when it comes to bonuses, they take more because you got paid more, it's not rocket science.
You should probably stop talking about taxes, and laws in general, it's clear you have zero idea what you're talking about.

correct, you paid almost half of the bonus in TAX, am i going to fast? and then at the end of the year even though you already paid almost half of the bonus in tax, the TOTAL bonus is counted as income when you file your yearly taxes, is this not true?
