thought i'd link this since there's so few straight pool tournaments these days. not a killer field but still filler, mario, maciol, pecelj etc

Thanks. Looks like a 2-day event with 84 players. Double-elimination today down to the Last 32, then single-elimination tomorrow to the end. So the finalists will play 5 matches tomorrow.

If they stick with 100-point matches, that shouldn't be too much of grind.
 
Interesting safety exchange at 58-48 He.:

He nuzzled up to a cluster.

Niels comes off two rails leaving everything in a line except a partial look at a cross side bank.

He makes the bank, but angle forces him up table and he’s dang near welded to the rail.

He makes long shot, but has to try another bank. No bueno.

Feijen takes control. Finishes rack and the next to take the lead.
 
In the Filler-Alnar match, Filler broke fairly well but Alnar made several good shots to get started. At 42 he scratched on a break shot. Filler runs 125 and out. Well, it was actually 123 as Alnar threw in the towel early.
 
My little sister played 14.1 womens. She finished on 9th place.
14.1 is weakest game of by far. I called to her after tourney and she was happy about run one game 20+ and 28 and out :)
I hope she keep playing positive pool and getting deep on 8, 9 or 10 ball :)
 
And Feijen just won his semifinal match against Kuckherm, so it will be Filler vs. Feijen in the final match in about 43 minutes (if it starts on schedule).

If Wiki is correct (and if I read it correctly), Feijen has been in the 14.1 finals 10 times (never against Filler), winning 7 of them. Filler has been in the finals just once, beating Hybler in 2022.

was probably been a semi then, and quite recent. impressive numbers for niels, but he's an underdog today
 
Looks like they are going to show the women's final rather than the men's. Pia Filler vs. Lena Primus. Both matches would be nicer!

On now. Maybe the men's will be played after the women's?
