Everest -vs- Kamui ...

Which of these two tips do you prefer ... I use the Everest have for awhile now, it gets good english and seems to last awhile... I tried the Black Kamui but cut it off not liking it very well... I did not feel it gave me the same kind of spin... I know many feel just the opposite and maybe I did'nt give the Kamui tip a fair enough shot so I wanted to ask and get the opinions of my peers and see what experiences they have had.... thank you.
I have been using Everest tips for over 5 years now, I like them just fine. It seems to me that most Kamui's play or feel unusually soft, I feel that my Everest really comes into its own when its about 1/2 worn out because it hardens up. When I miscue I don't blame the tip, I know its my stroke that caused it.

Around here they say, if you like a hard tip, install a Kamui Soft, in 2 weeks you'll have your hard tip. Brian.

I had a Kamui tan soft and I certainly did not experience that. I found out that I really liked the Everest when I had a G core shaft made for my D18 butt, McDermott put an Everest on it and I have used Everest tips since. I will be the first to admit that I have not been exposed to very many different tips but whenever I test hit someone's cue they more than likely have a soft tip and to me they hit crap.

Yes, and IMO, the everest tip is a lot lower maintenance with about similar spin and feels as Kamui. The Kamui black soft requires a lot of maintenance

Could be the best tip on the planet, made from electric eel skin, but if you don’t have confidence in it it’s not worth a quarter

I'm using a Kamui Tan Medium on one of my OB 2 shafts and like it just fine.

I also used the Everest tip for quite some time without any trouble. I play more with the Kamui Tan than the Everest tip FWIW.
14 years later, I am using Elk-Pro tips but will have to try out those HOW tips soon :) (Now using Mezz Ignite 12.2 mm but will be trying out the HOW 12.5mm carbon fiber shaft soon).
