TO ALL IN HELENE'S PATH .......BE SAFE

I posted this in NPR, but I thought maybe you main-landers could use a laugh as well. I hope you all stay safe and sound.
Enjoy.
Oh hell no! Where is Garczar? We can't have someone poking fun about something as serious as a hurricane. Wait, he's a what? Oh hell, forget I said anything.

Yes sir, boss, that's some funny stuff there.

Sometimes a good laugh is like therapy during a dark time.
😎👍
Praying for everyone in the path of that storm.

I'm hearing this is a CAT 4 storm, heading for the big bend/Tallahassee area. Officials are saying that the potential storm surge will be "unsurvivable."
I pray that folks got the hell out of there...
😳🙏

AMEN. Please pin this to NPR. If a little more humor could be spread around there, it would be much better.

One important corollary: The ability to earnestly laugh at ourselves and our frequent faux pas is incredibly satisfying and can work as a prophylactic. Imagine a stress inoculation which protects against humiliation. (But its not a vax in the classic sense so it ought to be safe and acceptable for all denominations.)

Power flickered, but never went out. No major trees down that I've seen yet, though i haven't walked the whole property yet. I'm heading into town to see how bad the storm surge was this afternoon.

So, all good here!

How are our Florida members doing this morning?
🙏

All good here in central Florida. A bit of wind and rain but nothing significant. Flooding on the barrier islands over on the coast in the Bradenton/Sarasota area where my family is but really nothing even a little inland.

Fortunately a non-event for us.

Others weren't so lucky.

A lot of flooding in and around Tampa due to storm surge in Tampa bay. Hearing about some real mess there, and of course the panhandle got creamed.

Still waiting to hear from some extended family in Tallahassee...
