Me neither...

You Are Here.jpg

In this area, we place a great deal of importance on "where ya from". "Whose ya momma and daddy" is a close second. I suppose it is just a regional thing. Many New York and Chicago folks are very quick to tell you not only their city but also what part of town they are from -- they feel it is an important part of who they are.
It is a weakness. Not something to be proud of. One place that does it really bad is Maine.

Here in FL we don't give a F where you are from.

that's because most people there are from somewhere else. florida is beautiful but it has no soul (reminds me of a lot of white girls I know) -- can't value something you never had.

in '70, destin was just a few boat docks. seaside did not exist and today they are filled with northern ex-pats. it is a story repeated again and again.

I live on Guard Dog LN, just off Fort Knox Blvd behind the liquor store that’s actually owned by my uncle. I live with my sister, since I got her pregnant, and we now have four scrapping healthy boys. We have free swimming at the end of our lane every time the septic systems back up, and bbq’s on Fridays if there’s enough fresh meat. Drop by anytime except after dark, that’s when the boy’s are out hunting for fresh meat!

I saw that meme recently that ranked Southern insults. I don’t think it was earlier in this thread. Hope not. But it said “ You ain’t from around here are you?” Was even worse than “Bless your heart.” 😇

There's a lot of paranoia out there.

Of course, just because someone is paranoid, doesn't mean that everyone isn't actually out to get them! 😁

Next time you're down here in Orlando let me know and we'll hit some balls!
I knew some folks were paranoid, but I never even suspected how many. My experience growing up was that the folks who kept looking over their shoulder usually had good reason to do so but folks who kept looking with reason were considered smart not paranoid.

Where I’m from people say eh? a lot….other than that, there’re unreasonably polite.

I'm confused (headscratch) which title? Cabrone is a title I earned. 🤷‍♂️ My Spanish speaking workmates said it was a good word......Old GOAT was the translation I found. 😉
The verbage beneath everyone's avatar. When I first joined I looked over the user stuff and noticed "Custom Title" Woopee joy etc... Usually you had to go through an Admo to get something like that. Well irony of irony, I had no idea what to say or call myself so I left it alone. Then I notice your Center Ball title. Mr. Center Ball? Anyway I immediately knew my title and there you have it.

As I suspected. It's CPG CBL that's confusing me. 🤷‍♂️

Here's a peek into an earlier day at AZB. It is sure nice to have details -- helps round people out. (Can't help but note that Hu was an early advocate for "locations".)

Why not just list members total fro each state?
Indiana 105 members for an example!
This would be great info to have. Age ranges. Sex. -- I would love to have a handle on foreign membership. Any such information could greatly enrich our AZB experience.
