Phenolic Inserts For Weight Bolts

Is it possible to put phenolic in the butt of a cue for the weight bolt / set screws?

My cue is only threaded 2 1/2 inches for 3/8 x 16 set screws.

Would be nice to be able to change the weight ever so little when needed without worrying about stripping or deforming the wood threads.

Of course

Yes, many cue companies have adjustable weight bolts/cartridges. You just need to find the right material, the sky is the limit

Think phenolic shaft insert applied to the butt of a cue where the weight bolt / set screw goes people.

I thought it was pretty simple as well.
All you have to do is decide whether your going to thread the phenolic body in or just push it in.
Predator for example just pushes thiers in, No glue rings either!
Downfall is,
If you over tighten the weight bolt, it can break the phenolic body loose.

Is there alot of phenolic inserts in 3/8x10 cues. I think that those would be screwed and unscrewed more than a weight bolt.
I had drilled out a 3/8x16 weight bolt hole awhile ago. Later on I changed my mind and needed to put in a bumper adapter.
I retapped for a larger hole and screwed in some type of metal adapter

Compared to 20 years ago, there are a lot more inserts being used.
