Hope this is okay to post here. I figured cue makers might have actual knowledge, instead of hoping someone else is crazy enough to try this.
I'm looking for extensions for my wife and I who both have Schon cues. We'd definitely like them to be quick release, and we aren't willing to pay huge sums of money for them since we mostly play on bar boxes these days and won't use them all that regularly. I know Rick Roper has a stellar reputation for making them, but I reached out and he's taking a break for now. So, I'm still looking, and I got to wondering....
I believe the Schon weight bolts are 3/8 x 16 which if my googling skills are reliable is a relatively standard size for other production cue makers. It got me wondering if I could just use something like a Jacoby or Joss or even Viking weight bolt/extension combo to achieve a cue with the same weight/balance I have now, as well as adding a quick release extension.
Does anyone know if this will work? Thanks for any insight you can provide!
