Jump cue advice

I am in the market for a new jump cue. Right now I use a Hanshew and think it is ok but I know technology has come a long way since I bought that cue. Was thinking about a Propel but not really up on the newer ones out there. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I've had a lot of jump cues and posted on this forum a number of times with my various experiences and recommendations. Rather than rehash those, I'll share a few thoughts. Standard disclaimers apply.

1) Hanshew is a superb jump cue, by far the best wooden jump cue I've ever owned. I would have no qualms about using it again.
2) Why do you want to change? There's nothing wrong with just wanting something new, but it's worth asking what you expect to gain. If you are expecting a dramatic improvement over the Hanshew I fear you may be disappointed.
3) The Propel and the Air Rush are also excellent jump cues. If you don't mind the price points, you can't go wrong with either of these choices.
4) If I was in the market for (yet another) jump cue, I would seriously consider the Triple-60 Hyper Jump, but I have NOT seen one in person nor tried one out.

Best of luck.

Find one made of dymondwood
I have an Alex brick which jumps better than any jumper I’ve ever tried
They are hard to find and expensive now

Cuetec Avid Jump cue. Their Avid line is probably one of the best values in pool...

I have the Avid jump cue and I'm not impressed, I find it hard to jump with. If anyone wants to try it make an offer :) I think the playing and break cues are probably solid though.

I also have an Air Rush and that's a great jump cue but also tried someone's Propel recently and boy was that thing easy to jump with! Seemed slightly easier to get it up quick with the Propel than my Air Rush even, I liked it a lot.

I'm just not sure the price difference is warranted. Different strokes for different folks.
🤷

I’ve been shocked at the difference the tip makes in my jumping ability. I look like I know what I’m doing with a white diamond tip (as opposed to a cheap phenolic tip). It might be worth experimenting with different tips before moving to a different cue.

A girl in league last year brought in a Propel jump cue she had just gotten. She is at tops a 350 fargo player and after league was over, she showed it to us. She had no experience in jumping and was easily jumping balls like she had done it for years. It was really impressive, or she just had a natural knack for jumping. Not sure which, but it still was impressive.
