Increase in custom cue prices

I have a valuation question.
2 cues delivered in 2006. One is a Ginacue and the other is an Ed Prewitt. Both cost about the same, $3200.
Which would you think has increased in value more? And why.

If everything being equal since we don't know what the cues look like and we're basing off name. I would say Giancue.

If everything is not equal but both were $3200 at the time then I'm going to assume the Prewitt cue looks much nicer than the Ginacue. I'm assuming you got more cue with the Prewitt than the same amount of the Ginacue. I would say Prewitt. Playing Gina vs. Monster Prewitt is an example.

The only answer to your question is the market itself today. The market is what a willing and able buyer will offer today for each cue. Recent comparable selling prices on identical cues would be a strong guide - if those exist - you would need to do your research via major online cue selling sites - without knowing details on each cue - I doubt that you will get accurate and dependable answers.

I just sold a Prewitt for a much larger number than that. Cue market is healthy right now. It’s not the 90’s, but it’s not dead.

Thanks. I am not looking for dollar values. I was asking which cue would be more valuable today. I didn't mention that they were brand new from cuemaker back in 2006. BTW which 'major online cue selling sites' do you use these days?
Prewitt had a 12 mo wait time back then. Ernie was a legend back then

What is the difference between dollar value and more valuable today.

Ed hasn’t had a 12 month wait for many, many years. Ernie earned his stripes and is a true legend, albeit a little tarnished. The value of either cue is always dependent on two factors and one very important overriding principle for every cue buyer.

SUPPLY & DEMAND…….Beauty Is In The Eye Of The Beholder. People will judge, evaluate, estimate and pay more
for something that has greater curbside appeal versus an item of equivalence. Ergo, a picture is worth a 1000 words.

They all have great curbside appeal. I was getting cues made by giving the cuemaker a wood to use and the dollar amount.
Ernie got snakewood. Ed got Brazilian rw. Mottey got amboyna burl....etc

Used production cue asking prices are also hitting the ridiculous stratosphere. - we are seeing sellers asking $1000 and sometimes more for used 80s and90s era Meucci, McDermott, and now a Dufferin or two with some cue maker’s name attached to the maple leaf banger for close to a G note - not ME!

Valuable = Worth……….Worth = What People Pay or Replacement Cost

Pay or Cost = Dollars……..If A is = B that’s = C……then A has to be = C

Valuable easily translates into dollar value or worth in order to have significance.

This effect is being driven by herd pricing behavior on eBay and not actual sales or sales data. There are always one-off and low-production cues made by the mass makers that command higher prices but a lot of what you're seeing now is just pure dumbass speculation coupled with idiotic marketing/pricing strategies designed to get your listing noticed over others.
