Absolutely gone up. You can't get anything today for the price you originally paid for those two. Nice cues.Back to the original question. Which cue has gone up in value more.? Cost from cuemaker same in 2006

Prewitt but so could a Joss West, TAD, Richard Black and a bunch of other cue makers aside from those I mentioned.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and when you like something over something equivalent, you usually will pay more.
He's being objective and doesn't want to show his bias because he has one too.Don't understand your answer. I am only interested in these 2 cues. So Prewitt is your final answer?
It's irrelevant. 2 cuemakers deliver a cue with same value in 2006. Which cue I more valuable today?
I think most Cue buyer have Zero idea what a Cuemaker has invested in machines, wood, etc. To crest functional Cue, or Functional Art Cue.![]()
Used production cue asking prices are also hitting the ridiculous stratosphere. - we are seeing sellers asking $1000 and sometimes more for used 80s and90s era Meucci, McDermott, and now a Dufferin or two with some cue maker’s name attached to the maple leaf banger for close to a G note - not ME!
This effect is being driven by herd pricing behavior on eBay and not actual sales or sales data. There are always one-off and low-production cues made by the mass makers that command higher prices but a lot of what you're seeing now is just pure dumbass speculation coupled with idiotic marketing/pricing strategies designed to get your listing noticed over others.

Well any Dufferin “conversion” is still just a Dufferin and IMO none should sell for over $400 today - I don’t care who did it , I did one myself - the silver leaf ebony full splice - the MOST desired Dufferin - mine is mint and I would not expect more than $400 - will play as good as whatever Searing could do with a Duf- what could he possibly do to it ? - same goes with Titilist conversions - mine was converted for $350 just a few years ago - will play and look as good as these $1500 Titilist conversions - just bc some guy slapped a name on it - it is so out of control now that I want no part of it.And, if the Dufferin Conversion was done by Searing for example, then the price would probably be in the $4k range, lol.

I understand your view if very little was done. Slap a pin in it and clean it up, maybe refinished. If it is used as a blank, how is a Dufferin conversion different from a Balabushka that used old house cues and blanks from other makers. Suppliers like Prather sells all kinds of point blanks, so there must be other builders making "real" cues with those.Well any Dufferin “conversion” is still just a Dufferin and IMO none should sell for over $400 today - I don’t care who did it , I did one myself - the silver leaf ebony full splice - the MOST desired Dufferin - mine is mint and I would not expect more than $400 - will play as good as whatever Searing could do with a Duf- what could he possibly do to it ? - same goes with Titilist conversions - mine was converted for $350 just a few years ago - will play and look as good as these $1500 Titilist conversions - just bc some guy slapped a name on it - it is so out of control now that I want no part of it.
Yes well $800 for a red maple leaf Dufferin is insane IMO - I don’t care who added a shaft to it - Some Dufferin’s came with a 5/16 14 joint screw in the butt that had a wide shoulder unthreaded section on the joint screw- you just unscrew it from the butt and insert the correct length 5/16 14 normal joint screw back into the cue butt and guess what - it is converted to now accept any piloted or non- piloted 5/16 14 shaft.I seen a Schick Dufferin conversion very recently too, but that was much more reasonably priced, at $800.
I love the Ebony Silver leaf, into BEM, but how often do you see one of those for sale? I can't even recall ever seeing a converted one. I would love to have one someday.
Thanks. You are an expert since you have one too.Ed Prewitt……..Ginacue was already in high demand 20 years ago having started making cues in 1961 thru ‘73
in ShermanOaks and later moving to Hollywood, CA. He was already a cue maker to the Hollywood stars and world
famous in ‘06 but in contrast, Ed was relatively unknown. To my way of thinking, Ed’s cues would be viewed to be underpriced in 2006 versus how much those cues would command today versus Ernie’s cues that have sold for top $.
I would never ever buy a GB plain titilist conversion cue as a true GB collectible - it would have to be a Spain or Gus blank or else not shelling out thousands - so I am consistent in my feelings about “conversion” pricing from 60s cues to modern day conversions.I understand your view if very little was done. Of course, some makers have a name that does increase the value whether or not there is a difference in playability. Point is I wouldn't say "any" Dufferin conversion is just a Dufferin. It depends on what the cue-maker did with it.
