I lived ½ miles from the BB arena, I watched Larry build it out. And lose over a million, could have been 2M. It was a big number.

His concept failed not because of the game, Christ he could have had NBA or golf and his idea was doomed from the jump.

Again BB didn’t fail because of the game itself or because it was pool. There’s a long irrelevant reason it failed. You have to live in Vegas and understand Vegas from a business perspective to know why he failed. Tourists or even locals who aren’t biz people won’t understand.

So forget the BB comparisons.

If there’s a good idea, water finds its own level in life and shit works when it’s good. Period. Make good and you’ll have a good biz. Make bad and you’ll not have a biz.

Yoga... explains it all! You can see things from angles and perspectives many other pool players can't, as most tend to just bend forward whilst stood on 2 feet

Likewise myself since first picking up a 3 foot snooker cue back in 1994. Not because I am short. Just 6 years of age.

In addition, this has no relevance to Vegas, nor anything casino-wise. Just a REALLY, simple solution to a "problem" with multiple ways to play that ALL can get involved with - whether your first time or after 50 years of gripping the shaft.

We have paperwork and legal bits to sort out the next few weeks, else I'd love to divulge all. It's been a 3+ year project so far.

Likewise, we'll be travelling to many locations working with distributors, hosting events, demonstrating the game. We may cross paths!

From a business sense, it's perfect. It's like having investors - investors = more purchasing power, more product availability and those who back you get something back in return - discount and some other bits.

Look at the majority of crowdfunded projects - do you think they have all of the funds to meet MOQ, or to go into production, or buy a higher number of their product? Nope.

You know how many property developers use "deposits" from those who want to buy an apartment or home in a new development to fund the completion? An awful lot, in fact.

Either way, we will launch and order what we can, but we would love to order more, give something back to those who support us and build a community in a sense where you can benefit from us and we can benefit from you. Collaboration is key!

We're not asking any individuals for £100k.

Just to select which of the 9 sets you'd like to pre-order when the project launches, how many, and which reward by way of thanks for supporting us, that's all!

We're talking £50-£150 - standard pricing for sets of phenolic resin balls, and lower "pub" grade balls.

We aren't trying to compete with Aramith, nor Dynaspheres. Not at all. We could have in fact worked with them, but one is "too busy" and one who expects an order of 13,500 sets - 1500 x 9.

But our concept is not an 8ball game. No #8 ball, no orange #5 ball... no orange at all, in fact.

Simply follow this thread for now, in a few weeks I will update it with more info!

Many already shooting it down before knowing what is!

It's a "problem" solver of a concept, with competitive option, which we believe would be welcomed by many who play to a good level.

As I said, stay tuned, if you find it isn't for you, that's fine, but right now, you're not sure if it's for you.

There are dozens of billiard/pool games that can be played without having to invest in new/different balls/equipment/stuff...

Because it solves a "problem" whilst offering several additional ways to play - either for fun or competitively.

We developed this concept to only require different balls. Why? Because this "problem", so to speak, occurs every day in many clubs/bars worldwide. Not a flaw within the current games per se, but something that is specifically required.

Also, someone kind of did ask why, as they thought it would "dilute" the game... it might actually encourage more to enjoy the game, in fact.

Would you be able to hold on a few weeks and then perhaps give some feedback?

Where NDA's have been signed, with just artwork and ways to play, the feedback has only been positive. We even got asked how to order and have pre-orders in writing for 110 sets from over 20 we met with.

We haven't complicated anything, we made something complicated no longer complicated.

I'm sorry you don't approve of a possible new pool game. That's absolutely fine, but there would be many keen to at least wait until the concept reveal in a few weeks before passing judgement so soon.

You'll get it back either way, just make sure you reserve before the Kickstarter launch and don't request the release of it until the Kickstarter project ends as we will need crosscheck names. The big problems I see:

1. One of your first statements is that you ban jumping and masses. Being that you are from the Merry old, this automatically suggests that you are catering to snooker culture. I, for one, hate the fact that the snooker culture is already screwing up the colors of our balls. Matchroom changing the ball colors is an extremely disrespectful move. Now you seem to want to push that further.

2. Nothing about pool seems complicated to me. Never did, so I can't even comprehend what type of simplification you are making? Taking away the break? Not requiring any balls to be in special spots? Not having to remember what ball you have to shoot at?

3. Hyping a product is great. Announcing weeks before any details are given that you are solving a problem without even defining the problem is...problematic and just serves to turn people away. So you rag on previous 'poor marketing' and proceed to undercut your marketing. Understand your audience, we all love pool, which means we likely don't see any inherent problems.

I'll tell you right now, there is absolutely no way that I am ever going to play your game. I live in a sparsely populated area (under 2million people in a state over 50% larger than the entire UK), so there is no chance that your game takes off with the local pool players in the next decade.

Banning things like jumps and masses is ridiculous at this point. I don't really do either much, but also don't want to take those options away from my opponents.

Why would anybody "commit" for any amount of money without knowing the first thing about what you're talking about? When it's released and people know what it is and they want to buy it, they can buy it. I don't think I've ever seen a "tease" like this work out well. Remember when they teased how revolutionary and world changing the Segway was going to be? and then it turned out to be the Segway?

How was bonus ball supposed to hit anyway?

The assumption among the proprietors was the public has a growing thirst for team play, using the buzz that is the Mosconi Cup as evidence. This assumption was not correct then and it is not correct today. Team play is fine a couple of times a year, but I don't want too big a serving of it.

Also, bonus ball had teams that, supposedly, represented the cities of America, but the teams did not consist of the pro players most associated with those cities, so the presumption that people living in City A would care whether the City A team won was not well grounded.

In addition, the folks at Bonus Ball felt that fans were tiring of the mainstream games and that their new game was more exciting than those contested at the pro level. Bonus Ball was an interesting and challenging game that few understood and even fewer found more exciting to watch than the other games.

Finally, poor streaming quality made Bonus Ball, more or less, unwatchable for those, like me, who chose to give it a chance.
