Cue length

Another thread was discussing SVB removing his cue extension. I think him and Fedor now put the extension on for longer power shots.
What’s everyone’s opinion, I think it makes complete sense to have a longer cue if your arm span is longer.
It can’t be optimal to have the same cue length for a 5 ft 4 person and a 6 ft 4 person?
Maybe it does t make sense to change if you have used a standard cue length for years but anybody straying or with a lot of scope to improve, I’m sure that must be the way to go. Otherwise tall people will play shots with their hand hanging over the end or their elbow angle , less than optimal?
Absolutely. When I started playing again after a long hiatus, that extra few inches made a world of difference in my enjoyment and imo, helped me progress faster trying to get my stroke back, which I know will never be the same, but I'll settle for 60%

Don't think I'd admit that in public.😉

I'm just a little over 6'5" and have pretty well settled on 60" cues. I tried a 62" for a while, but I ended up playing with a longer bridge length and that seemed to hurt accuracy for me. I think if I could have adjusted the balance point it may have worked out better and made me move the cue back in my hand instead of the extra length being all in the front. It just felt odd to me to move my grip hand up.
I've always tended to favor a front heavy cue. One thing to consider is if you are playing with most production cues that have a big weight bolt in the very back of the cue, it's going to feel very different with an extension on it compared to custom cue that is more naturally weighted on the front end, or a cue that has a steel joint with a big pin etc. A cue with the weight in the rear would probably feel better with a mid-extension.
I'm not willing to spend the money just to try it, but I would really like to have a week to mess around with something like a McDermott H-Series just to experiment with moving the weight and then adding/removing extensions.
Weight forward. Too long will cause accuracy issues I've found. Like 62" for you. Longer bridge length can be an issue as well, if you're not watching everything. I gotta check mine constantly. I can get way out there. 😂 Ok for big tables, but on a bar box, I'd probably start poking holes thru nearby walls.😂
