Treadway cues

Hey everyone,
I recently reached out to Josh Treadway to order a custom pool cue, and after our initial conversation I haven’t heard anything back in nearly a month. For anyone who’s worked with Josh, is this level of delay typical in his process?

Also, if this kind of responsiveness isn’t common, could anyone recommend cue makers who are more communicative throughout the build process?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I think that after an initial conversation with a cue maker, you are supposed to call back and say, "I've decided to order the cue we discussed for the price you quoted me, which was $$$$. Here are the specs I requested: ...."

Josh has a three year waitist.

Were you already on the list or did you just get on it with that initial conversation?

Because if that was the first conversation then all you got was giving Josh a basic understanding of what you want and being put on his list it's gonna be a while before he calls you back....

He quit emailing me back. Kind hard to let him know when he's not responding.

Im trying to get on it. We just emailed a few times and i told him what i was looking for and he gave a few ideas which i liked but then i havent heard from him. I don't have a phone number know any other way to get in contact with him. Im fine waiting a few years because that gives me some time to increases my budget to really get what i want.

A fucking Joss is not a Treadway, my God...

What a terrible comparison, Joss is about 15 workers banging away Josh is one fucking dude making masterpiece cues.

Jesus....

Show me your Joss that looks like this...

I sent an anonymous tip to ICE, the Joss/Josh comparisons rises to the level of forced deportation... :giggle:
What do I know... I have Predators. However..how good is anyone that does not get back to the potential customer. Who needs that nonsense?
EDIT... just looked at Treadways and they are beautiful. I could afford one but have no interest in that money level and not up for waiting. Certain things in life are and are not worth waiting for...but lack of solid communication take the fun/joy out of the purchase.

Again, these makers deal with a ton of "tire kickers", and when you already have a three-year waitlist, it's just more time away from fulfilling the backlog.

Now I'm certainly not saying that the original poster is a tire kicker, but I was not privy to their conversation and don't even know what the person wanted Josh to make.

There is certainly a point where a cue maker hits a certain level of notoriety and volume of business, that the communication starts to stretch out, and it becomes harder to commission work from them.

We see it a lot on this site...

Isn't he selling his business and moving to the Philippines? I just played with a Gulyassy cue this past weekend and loved it though.
nope, he said hed make me a custom in a few months time
none of this waiting years business

if josh didnt respond, hes most likely not interested in making what your talking about

We just emailed back and forth a bit, i sent him my idea plus some pictures and he came back with some ideas he had in mind and types of wood he had laying around. I let him know i liked what he said and then that was it. I reached back out last week to see if we could get things in motion but haven't heard back yet. Im serious about getting it but maybe hes not excited about what i want or something.
