The thing that most interests me is that it says it's more forward balanced. If I have one complaint with the regular Rhino it's that it feels a bit lighter/rear balanced than the wood shaft it replaced. This isn't to say it's bad or you can't easily get used to it.
If I get one I'll report back on it but it might be a bit with Christmas coming up and all.
According to their picture, it looks as though the weight is about 8"-10" forward of the joint vs how they they have it now with their current shafts having the weight directly in front of the the butt thread about 1/4"-1/2".
I tried to add a slight weight pin to a Rhino 3/8x8 spare shaft I purchased for one of my Jacoby's, and when I tried to drill a hole to run in a 5/16" tap into, I immediately hit the metal weight installed about 1/4'-1/2" past the length that my radial butt pin goes in.
Because of this we just put a 8g weight washer, about .3 oz, between the butt and shaft to get the desired feel.
I'm also interested in trying one of their new shafts for my latest Jacoby, and will probably wait till next Friday to see if there is a slightly better deal than now. I did spin the wheel thing and got another 5%, but would like free ship. Had to use my wife's email to spin the wheel as they remember my past purchases.
I did get a Jacoby Kielwood shaft to try with my new Jacoby. They exchanged it out as I didn't need another Ultra shaft. I have to say, it has a really, really, nice hit. I did change the tip out to the Ultraskin blacks I use though, as I don't like the tip that they come with.
I also tapered the shaft down to 12.5mm from the standard 12.75mm, to match all my other shafts I have. Then as it was so light, 3.55 oz, I added a 5/16" .3 oz pin to the shaft for a little more forward weighted cue feeling as I first shot it with the 8gr weight washer and liked that but didn't want to keep using the washer all the time.
